Public Affairs Associate - Compostable Flexible Packaging - Europe

Our client is the first company to offer a viable alternative to flexible packaging, our client meets the specifications brands and converters are looking for in the food and non-food industries. The packaging is bio-based, fully compostable and has similar mechanical and optical properties as conventional, flexible plastic packaging, including: transparency, flexibility, sealing strength, durability, barrier and shelf life. The flexible packaging is made from several proprietary materials, the blended outcome being fully compostable within 6 months in an industrial compost!

The essence of the role is driving the engagement with the public sector in topics of regulation, to open new public relations opportunities for our client and to orchestrate our clients representation in high-priority international initiatives and events.

You will work with the Lobbying & PR agencies, together with the marketing team, in order to leverage a strong and effective plan to shift legislation, as well as the market, towards compostable solutions, as a mainstream option, as well as our client as a thought-leader in their category.

It is expected that the ideal candidate will have worked in policy advocacy and public affairs in a business (at least 2-3 years of experience). If it's been from a plastics' field; it's ideal, but it could also be in other fields. They search for someone who knows how to "work the system".
